Hi fellow Fashionista/os! My name is Clara and this is my fourth term as a Style Guru and I am so excited for another incredible semester! I cannot believe it has been a year since I first became a part of the CollegeFashionista team, and I am just as excited as I was when I first began. I am a junior at Carleton College in Minnesota, which is located in a tiny town just south of the Twin Cities. I am an economics and mathematics/statistics double major and, when I am not studying, I play violin, do stand up comedy, ski and involve myself in a bunch of organizations on campus.
I spent this summer in Europe studying economics in Germany, Belgium and the U.K. I am currently in Ireland and will be finishing up this trip in Amsterdam before heading back to the States. I have had the most incredible time and the street style has been amazing. No matter where I was, people seemed very put together and confident in what they are wearing. Living out of a suitcase for almost three months has been excruciatingly hard, but I have learned to cope (shopping helps too). I am excited to return home, but I will miss Europe dearly.
This summer has really inspired me to move beyond my comfort zone in terms of fashion. I have never been a huge fan of dresses, but learning how to mix it with my style has been really interesting. For instance, this denim, overall dress would never have been something I thought I could wear, but its playfulness (and the fact that it’s denim) meshes with my personal style well. Pairing it with a patterned shirt and black booties makes this an effortlessly cool look.
My most favorite things to shop for are rings. I picked up the most rad tiger ring from a small shop in England and I could not be more in love. It pairs well with the rest of my beloved jewelry and will always remind me of this incredible summer. I cannot wait for another term with CollegeFashionista and to show you all the street style from my campus!
