Hello everyone! My name is Clarissa Marchia, and I cannot believe this is my last semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I have been part of the CollegeFashionista community since my freshman year, and now that I’m a senior, I feel that the time has flown by so quickly. I grew up in small suburbs along the East Coast before moving to the exciting city of San Francisco. I study Media Studies and Journalism at the University of San Francisco, and on campus is my favorite place to observe and report the latest trends.
My interest of fashion began in my young teenage years as I flipped through pages of Seventeen Magazine and other fashion publications. I fell in love with the clothing in the style section and listened closely to the style advice from contributing writers. I knew I wanted to have the same, positive impact on my readers that these fashion writers had on me. With CollegeFashionista, I have had so many opportunities to boost my reader’s confidence and give them incentive to dress outside their comfort zone.
My style changes everyday. Some days, I feel like wearing leather and my favorite pair of booties. Other days, I rely on athleisure to get me through the day. I admit that given unlimited funds and closet space, I would spend most of my money on new shoes and jackets. But I’m not a big designer girl. Mostly, whatever is in my closet comes from thrift stores or is borrowed from another friend’s closet.
I am excited to see what winter and spring fashion trends will make an appearance during my last semester on campus. Stay tuned!
