Ciao a tutti! My name is Colleen Gaughran and this semester I’m lucky enough to be studying in the beautiful city of Florence, Italy. During my second semester interning for CollegeFashionista, I’m excited to be able to bring you the latest fashion trends from abroad. I’m looking forward to traveling to some of the biggest fashion capitals of the world including Milan, London, Paris and Rome during my stay in Europe. Having learned about the fashion and lifestyles of different European cities in various courses that I’ve taken over the last few years, I am more than ready to experience the cultures of these cities firsthand.
For those of you that don’t know me, I am a junior at Marist College studying Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources and a minor in Fashion Merchandising. I get most of my fashion inspiration from the looks of classic style icons including Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Grace Kelly. My go-to brand is kate spade new york for its unique yet classic designs and use of fun pops of color. While I stick to mainly timeless design elements, I also take inspiration from the latest runway shows and always check in with Fashion Police on E! to see what the best-dressed celebrities are wearing.
Most of the time, you’ll find me wearing a shift dress, button-down top or crewneck sweater. I love pieces that are neutral and can act as a blank canvas for any look I want to create! My fall must-haves include neutral slip-on sneakers, anything and everything that is hunter green and versatile joggers. You’ll never catch me without my favorite sunglasses, Essie nail polish (usually in “Fiji”) and some type of dark chocolate in my purse.
On a non fashion-related note, I love cupcakes, coffee, sappy Nicholas Sparks books and giraffes. Follow my monthly posts as I travel to some of the greatest cities in the world! Ciao!
