Hello all! I would like to introduce myself to all of you lovely Fashionista/os! My name is Colton Madore, also known as “fashionablymadore” to those of you who know me by my personal blog. I am currently a sophomore Fashion Merchandising and Communication Arts student at Framingham State University, which is just a short drive from the wonderful city of Boston. Words cannot describe how pleased and thrilled I am to be taking on this internship as a Style Guru for the fall!
For as long as I can remember I have been enthralled by fashion. I always looked forward to going back-to-school shopping or even shopping with my mother because the thought of all the clothes excited me. Fashion to me is a way of expression. You can express yourself in so many ways by wearing different pieces of clothing and you can also make it your own. One thing that I love about fashion is that it is always one step ahead. What is new today will be old tomorrow, yet it should not be mourned of loss when it is gone because style is forever.
I would describe my style as a little bit of the past meets a little bit of the present, or to be more exact, a little bit of this meets a little bit of that. One day I will feel super confident and pair a black pair of combat boots with cut-offs with an oversized T-shirt, and then the next day I will feel preppy and wear khakis with a button-down shirt. That’s the thing about fashion: you can do what you want on your own time! Today, I am wearing a button-down from H&M as well as a pair of shorts from American Eagle Outfitters. The button-down keeps the look looking sophisticated while the shorts keep it cool and casual. To finish off the look, I added a fedora and my favorite pair of Birkenstocks. The fedora will not only keep my head cool, but it will also keep my face protected from the sun.
A relative once told me that in order to find happiness you must do what you love and you will succeed. For me, that happiness is fashion. I am eager to go forth in the magnificent yet crazy world of fashion and see where I end up. I hope you all take the journey with me! See you soon!
