Hello everyone! My name is Cydney Critchlow and I’m a fashion merchandising major at Kent State University. I’ll be going into my sophomore year at Kent State next semester. I’m excited to continue my journey within their program and learn all there is to learn about the fashion industry, inside and out!
I’m originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and love my city! Pittsburgh has a ton to offer. There’s always something to do whether it’s a sporting event, walking around town and taking in the views or my favorite… shopping! I have always loved shopping and fashion. Even when I was younger, I always looked forward to my shopping trips and bringing home my new clothes. It was something that never failed to excite me and still does to this day. Nothing can beat the feeling of finding the perfect new outfit you’ve been longing for! I also used to be obsessed with Project Runway when I was younger. I would watch the new episode with my mom every single week. It was something that totally fascinated me. I could sit and watch the show for hours upon hours and never get tired of hearing Tim Gunn say “Make it work!”
Another thing that fascinated me was fashion magazines. I would read Teen Vogue or Seventeen magazine and take in all of the new trends that were offered in them at the time. All of these things led me to believe that I’ve always had a passion for fashion! As I’ve gotten older, I have started to appreciate fashion and my unique style a lot more. Rather than just picking out something that classified as the “latest trend,” I began to find my own style that fit me. I classify my style as edgy with a classy twist. My wardrobe is always stocked with plenty of black pieces, in which you can never go wrong. As Neiman Marcus said, “Women who wear black lead colorful lives.”
With all of this being said, I’m excited to be a part of this awesome internship this summer!
