Hey everyone! My name is Dahlia Chaudhury and I’m so pumped for my first semester as a Style Guru!
The basics about me: I’m a sophomore at American University double majoring in international relations and public relations and strategic communications. My hometown is Auburn, Alabama, so I have a soft spot for the south. I’m a lover of sports, donuts and the Jonas Brothers!
I have loved fashion since about age 3, and I’m pretty sure my shopping problem started way back then! When I realized the designing side of fashion wasn’t for me, I found a passion in photography. I took a photography class in my second semester of freshman year and I learned so much to help me with how I approach fashion photography. My final project had a fashion feel and I absolutely loved shooting it!
In my spare time I try to dance as much as possible (hip hop and tap are my favs!), I play soccer and basketball and I love to read.
Throughout the semester I hope to capture everything a Washington D.C. campus is about. The students here dress incredibly sophisticated and chic, and since a lot of them have internships around the city it’s so fun to see their professional wear.
My style tends to be less trendy and more just what I like. I’m a firm believer in being comfortable, so you’ll rarely see me in jeans (leggings all the way), I love dresses and I pretty much only wear sneakers. I also never leave the house without a scrunchie! For my outfit here, I was going to family brunch so I kept it simple. I’m wearing a white romper from a local boutique, it’s so comfy, but looks dressy at the same time, mirrored aviators and Vans slip-ons.
