Hello, lovely people! My name is Dalia and I am currently a freshman studying English and secondary education at The City College of New York. I am glad to announce that this semester I am going to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista!
Through CollegeFashionista I am going to be able to combine two of my passions, literature and fashion. During my free time I read romance, mystery, fantasy, and science fiction books and when I do it’s like entering a different world. Meanwhile, thanks to writing, I am able to express what I cannot say in words, on paper…or I should rather say journal. Meanwhile, fashion is a way for me to express my identity, rather than it being a reflection of what is expected to be expressed.
I consider my fashion archetype to be mostly romantic. I love lace, pleats, floral, and soft colors. I am what people call a “girly-girl.” However, sometimes I like to dress casual, but with once again a touch of romantic. I like to dramatize my look by adding statements like bracelets, necklaces, and earrings.
Here, I showed off my overall fashion style. I paired up my black and white bomber jacket with black floral jeans from H&M. I felt like my look was too simple so I decided to throw on a criss-cross T-shirt. In addition to that, I wore a black leather choker which is a trend that I am obsessed with. I love chokers! Since conformity is an aspect that I look for in an outfit, I decided to wear my white Adidas sneakers which are must haves for anybody’s closet. As you can tell I love the color black. Even my nail polish is black! Since I wore a lot of black and white, I curled my hair in order to soften my look.
Now that I’m in college I’m so thrilled at the fact that I don’t have to wear uniform. I love being able to wear whatever I want. I have to confess that my favorite part of the day is choosing an outfit. When I wear something cute I know that I’m going to start my day off great. The following quote by Maria Sharapova is one of my favorites: “When you look good, you feel good. Confidence with what you’re wearing is very important.”
