Hello, hello! My name is Dami and I’m brand new to the CollegeFashionista team; however, I am not new to the blogging world. I have been blogging fashion with a mix of lifestyle for a good part of six years. I am now entering my junior year at George Mason University where I study both Finance and Business. For as long as I remember, fashion has had a big impact on my life. I believe coming into your style is an evolving journey; a journey where you learn to rule out the fads, hang on to the basics and find your statement.
I would say my style is very eclectic. I often get asked what inspires me and how I can switch my style up so quickly. In actuality, that is apart of my style! I do not limit my inspirations and I do not place myself in a category based upon what I usually wear. I was born in Nigeria and moved here at a young age. Like many other immigrants, we did not have a lot, so essentials took preference to desires. It was not long before I came to see the difference between trends and staple items! For example, as fabulous as this co-ordinate is, it is very trendy. On the other hand, an easy, breezy cardigan is timeless. Not to say shy away from the trends; more often than not they are a blast to experiment with!
This upcoming season, I am looking forward to seeing just how sleek the sporty-luxe look can get. I am not the one to throw heels on with every outfit, nor am I the type to constantly sport skirts and crisp blouses. I think that is what the sporty-luxe look is all about; it has a tomboy feel with a feminine touch. Not to mention how it completely boasts effortlessness. Recently, Forever 21 has proven to have mastered this product. Take this sharp jacket, for example.
