Hey everybody! I’m Dana Durante, a freshman at Illinois State University. I am currently studying public relations in hopes to work along side Hollywood’s best celebrities. My true love for fashion blossomed when I took a fashion merchandising class my sophomore year of high school. The fashion industry seemed like such a fantasy filled with beautiful models, one of a kind designs and incredibly influential designers. It is a whimsical place that I dream of every night. I feel it is necessary to speak about Diane von Furstenberg. She is easily my favorite designer due to her creative mind and loving heart. I aspire to be her, not that I want to create my own fashion empire, but to be as powerful and successful as she is. I cannot wait until I buy my first DVF wrap dress!
Unlike most people, my personal style ranges from posh to boho. I can’t pick one specific style of clothes to stick to because I will eventually get bored of it. One day, I will wear a moto jacket and the next I will wear a fur vest! This faux fur vest is my favorite thing to wear for this winter season. It is such a simple piece to incorporate into your wardrobe. The mauve color is great for the fall/winter months.
Today I simply wore my fur vest with skinny jeans and a mock turtleneck sweater. I am obsessed with my thigh-high boots from DSW. I feel extremely sassy and fierce in them (which is always a great thing). Of course, with the cold weather upon us, I could not skip putting on my cute beanie with a furry top! If you are going for a night out or a holiday party, you can easily switch out the pants for a sweater dress and booties.
I am super excited to begin my second semester with CollegeFashionista! I can’t wait to see what trends pop up on campus this spring!
