Ciao Fashionistas/os! My name is Daniela Pedulla, and I am privileged to say I am one of the latest additions to the CollegeFashionista team! I am in my third year at Rutgers University in New Jersey where, as a junior, I am working hard to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management.
Since a very young age, I could give you a full report of what my friends wore for as far back as a week. Back then, I did not understand that I always knew what I was meant to pursue. Yet when it came time to put some thought into my future, there was only one simple answer staring back at me—fashion. I remember the way I felt when my mom brought me to my favorite stores as a 10-year-old. It was as if the clothes were sparkling as I strutted through the store, making sure to catch a proper glance at each and every corner. I feel as though fashion has a way of speaking to me, and it is finally my time to speak back.
I will speak back through whom I choose to photograph and focus on from this point forward. With College Avenue as my current runway, I am confident I will incorporate the perfect amount of diversity while still touching on well-known areas of dressing. Do you like pairing skinny jeans with heels? Or are you famous for wearing a sweater dress and low-top Vans? Either way, I’ll find a way to help you—even if it’s about color coordinating!
Style, to me, speaks thousands of words each day. On Monday, you can find me sporting a lace dress paired with high-tops. Yet, on Thursday, you may find me crossing the street in a light gray pant suit with peep-toe heels. It truly depends on which day you catch me, and that is the beauty of it all. Fashion never says no.
As the king himself once said, “The great thing about fashion is that it always looks forward.” Oscar de le Renta knew more than a thing or two when it came to dressing. His gowns have always been an inspiration of what I want to design one day, and they serve as a reminder that dressing well is a form of good manners (which has been quoted once before by Tom Ford). I am a layering queen, and I believe you’re never fully dressed without your latest pair of sunglasses. Black is my favorite color when it comes to dressing, but that does not stop me from dipping into anything I find appealing or unique. Vogue Magazine is, and forever will be, my inspiration and guidance for years to come.
I am humbled and delighted to have the opportunity to share with you my utmost fashion secrets, my current thoughts on trends and my insight on how to pull my tips, ideas and statements into the perfect combinations. I encourage you to follow me on this journey of color.
