Hey Everyone! My name is Daniella Osuna, or just Ella. I am currently a freshman at Virginia Commonwealth University. I’m a part of the School of Arts and majoring in fashion merchandising. This is my first semester as a Style Guru, and I’m so eager to be able to show my style through my articles.
I moved from a suburban town in north Virginia to the city of Richmond. I have been loving every minute of the city life. There have been so many fun opportunities here for me, and I can’t wait to be able to explore more of Richmond. I find so much inspiration in the city and everything in it. One of my favorite things to do is go on spontaneous adventures around the city with my friends and take pictures. We have discovered several rooftops and other locations where we stop to take quick outfit-of-the-day pictures. When I’m not running around the city taking pictures, my friends and I enjoy finding restaurants and trying new foods.
Fashion has always been another creative outlet for me that has allowed me to express myself. Your fashion style is a way to show your personality through different garments. My style has changed a few times throughout the years, but I have finally found a style that I feel represents me. I would describe my style as minimalist, chic, and modern. My closet is filled with cool tones and neutral colors because they are usually easier to pair stuff with. My closet is also filled with basic pieces and statement pieces. Pairing basic garments with one statement piece is one of my favorite things to do.
The outfit I’m wearing in the picture has been my go-to look for the season. All the staple pieces in this outfit are so versatile. Layering simple tops with different bralettes has to be my favorite trend I’ve tried so far. The lace from lace bralette peeking out from under the black velvet crop top was a fun way to spice up the simple crop top. Throwing a leather jacket on top made the entire outfit a little more edgy, and I personally love adding a little edginess to an outfit. Mom jeans have gotten so popular this year, and I finally understand why: they are so comfortable but stylish! Lastly, everyone knows that with whatever look I’m wearing, I’m most likely wearing a different pair of booties. These black ankle booties are so easy to walk around the city in—they are definitely my go-to shoes. I accessorized with a simple DIY suede choker and my chain strap bag to, again, add a little edgy to the outfit.
I can’t wait to start this semester as a Style Guru and share my style with others. Feel free to follow me on Instagram or any other social media to keep up with me.
