Hi there, my name is Danielle Arredondo. I am a sophomore at Arizona State University. I have had a passion for fashion for quite a long time. I am not sure how or where my love for fashion came from but over the years it has only gotten greater. My sophomore year of high school was where my journey really started. I had been sketching ideas for a long time and finally decided to bring a sketch to life. I learned the basics of sewing and went out to create my first dress for my high school prom. After many failures, and a lot of learning on the way, I was successful in making my dress. Being able to wear my own creation was one of the proudest moments I have ever had. That was the moment I knew this was something I wanted to pursue. The next few years I continued and made my own dresses for high school dances.
As I graduated high school and moved on to college I figured I needed to move on to bigger projects. I obtained an internship with a Phoenix Fashion Week designer and got to learn from her one-on-one for months leading up to Fashion Week. When the exciting week came, I got to be behind the scenes and acted as the designer’s right hand man. That was one of the coolest experiences I have ever had and I know this is only the beginning. As college goes on and I find myself working on new things, my love for fashion only grows stronger. I cannot wait to see what is ahead of me when I follow my career in fashion.
