I’M BACK Y’ALL! I’m so excited to start my second semester with CollegeFashionista. I’m still a senior at Texas State University and majoring in fashion merchandising while minoring in business administration. Sadly since I’m a senior, this will also be my last year as a member of the Fashion Merchandising Association and as a collegiate in the Delta Gamma Fraternity. My plans for after college for the most part haven’t changed, but I’ve been debating whether or not I want to live in the Bahamas/Caribbean area for either a few months or years before residing back in New York City.
My previous biography discussed what got me into fashion, so this time I thought I would share what keeps me interested. Number one is obviously the classes I’m taking throughout my time at college. My professors love what they teach and the program in general has so many opportunities to be involved. I also love following fashion models, magazines and retail stores on social media, especially Instagram. Another thing that keeps me interested in the fashion industry are my friends, they always (and I mean always) ask me for fashion advice or to coordinate outfits for them.
My overall style is still the same, I still love wearing all of my black and edgy clothes while incorporating nature. I have noticed that lately I’ve been wearing more bodycon type clothes and shorts–that’s probably due to the Texas heat! This summer I’ve been starting to become more comfortable with who I am and what my style is. It’s taken me twenty-one years, but I’m finally trying to not worry about what others think of my style and dress the way I want.
My outfit shown above is a black and white striped tank top with a pair of black shorts. I paired the outfit with my black combat boots–one of my favorite pairs of shoes. With recruitment right around the corner, I’m representing my sorority with a simple drop necklace that showcases our letters. To match my drop and to add a different color to the outfit, I had my silver studded tote.
As you may have noticed, I dyed my hair red and got extensions—I absolutely love it! I’ve always been insecure of my hair and have always wanted to look like Ariel from The Little Mermaid. I think that doing my hair has contributed to me feeling more comfortable with myself. I’m also planning on getting the first of many tattoos this semester, hopefully I’ll have it by the time I do a STYLE GURU STYLE article…fingers crossed!
Again, I’m so excited to still be a part of such an amazing company and I can’t wait for y’all to continue to read my articles!
