Hey, all! It’s me, Danielle Healy, back for my first summer session with CollegeFashionista. I am a junior fashion merchandising student at Kent State University with double minors in fashion media and visual journalism. I have been a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista going on three semesters now and I couldn’t be happier about the opportunities this site has given me.
The spring semester was an exciting one because I got the chance to take some interesting new classes and be a part of the committee that produces the Fashion School’s Annual Fashion Show. It was all such a blast and I can’t believe how quickly college is flying by.
I have a big few months ahead in addition to writing for CollegeFashionista. I recently started a copywriting internship with a company in New York City called Black Lapel and will be in the area working most of the summer. After that, it’s off to Italy for a semester abroad at Kent’s satellite campus in Florence. I’m incredibly excited, and oh so nervous, about all the opportunities I have ahead of me. Even with a million things changing I know I have a lot of awesome people behind me helping to make it all possible.
But enough about me—back to fashion. I think covering some more laid back, summer looks will be really fun! I love all the bare shoulders, vibrant colors and big shades that summertime brings. From the months of May to August you can usually find me in a breezy sundress with Converse sneakers or my go-to wedge sandals. Summer also brings even shorter hair and a huge influx in the frequency with which you’ll find me wearing gold jewelry, like my big shiny hoops.
I thank everyone who has been following my articles all this time and I hope you enjoy what I turn out in the future.
