Hi there, my fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Danielle and I am a Chicago girl who migrated south to the Bluegrass State. I am a student at the University of Louisville where I am studying Communication and Political Science. I am so happy to be back with CollegeFashionista for another semester! Writing for them has been a dream come true and I’m so excited to see what this semester will bring! If you read my previous bio you will see that I was in a completely different place than I am now. Before I was somewhat unsure of what I wanted for my career, but after this semester with CollegeFashionista, the choice became clearer.
I’ve always been an avid lover of fashion. Whether it be giving makeovers or giving style advice, I was always the go-to person for my friends and even some of my family. Because this passion was too strong to ignore, I knew that I had to go with my gut versus going into a career that I wouldn’t necessarily be happy in. Making that choice was the best decision that I made and I have this internship to thank for that.
As I’ve stated numerous times before, I believe that fashion is one of the purest forms of self-expression. You can easily tell a lot about an individual’s personality just by his or her preferred style of dress. My style has evolved a ton over the last few months. I used to be all over the place and I would never really put myself into one category. Now I can classify my style as more feminine and sophisticated. Turning 20 truly did give me incentive to up my style game, and now I find myself gravitating towards more classic pieces.
That’s what today’s look was all about! This season, I’ve been loving staples that I can mix and match with some of my older pieces. I’ve just recently invested in a camel coat and I’ve been absolutely loving it! Nothing says classic like this coat and it’s an item that I’ll be able to have forever. I also purchased this wool hat back in the summer and it has been once of my favorite pieces to wear and it paired really well with the coat! To finish this look off, I added a green plaid blanket scarf, my Rebecca Minkoff cross-body purse and a pair of chestnut booties. With these five items you can easily recreate this look!
