Hi guys! I’m a student at Mississippi State University majoring in fashion design and merchandising with minors in marketing and journalism, and I love every single minute of it! I’m also currently in shock over the fact that I just started my senior year of college and will soon head for the real world. When I graduate, I hope to pursue a career in publishing or fashion journalism, eventually working my way up to an editor position. I am super involved in my field of study and take advantage of every adventure I can get my hands on! I recently moved back to Mississippi to finish school after interning at Rialto Jean Project in New York City. Being in the fashion empire we call the Big Apple was the most amazing and eye-opening experience. I learned so much about fashion and about life, and I absolutely cannot wait to go back!
My personal style could be described as cool and laid back, throwing in an occasional quirky edge. I live for graphic and band tees, boyfriend jeans and a great pair of boots. This is my go-to outfit because I love being fashionable but comfortable at the same time. I love thrift shopping/anything vintage, and brands like Urban Outfitters and Free People are wardrobe staples. A few fall trends that I’m currently dying over are cropped flares and velvet (how cute would both be with one of my band T-shirts?).
However, I can clean up pretty nicely. In these photos, I’ve put together a polished look totally appropriate for back-to-school activities. Though super classy, this ensemble is complete with one of the most popular long-term trends right now, a clean pair of culottes. I then added a plain tee and gray heels to keep the look simple. To top it off, though, I accessorized with a bright red handbag for a gorgeous pop of color (mine’s a Goodwill find but this is just as fab!). I ended with minimal jewelry to make the look sparkle a little.
I am so excited to continue reporting on trends for my second semester with CollegeFashionista, this time on my home campus! After spending an amazing summer in the city, I am now settled back home and ready to take on another #RAD semester.
