Hi! I’m Daryn Hughes, and I have no idea how to write a bio. So excuse me while I ramble through this.
I’m a senior at Florida State University and I’m majoring in retail merchandising and product development with a minor in communications.
Since the day I was born, my grandmother has pulled me through the mall from open to close. Eventually she stopped having to pull and I was begging to go. When shopping became my number one hobby it just made sense to pursue a career in the industry. Social media is the other love of my life. Though knowing the ins and outs of Khloe Kardashian’s life doesn’t help me during finals week, its definitely more interesting to know. The dream is to combine my loves in public relations for a brand that loves to give big discounts on their merchandise. Regardless of the job, it’s L.A. or bust! There’s no way I’m going back to winters in New Jersey.
The best and worst time of day is when I have to get dressed. Picking out the perfect outfit for the occasion can be stressful, but so fun. My style is typically anything that goes with my Brandy Melville boyfriend jeans. They’re like stylish, denim sweatpants. I’m the type of girl that wears a jacket in 75-degree weather because it’s apart of my outfit. I’m not the biggest fan of color. Most of my outfits are black. Lots of black.
My wardrobe is a blend of light, flowy rompers and edgy leather pieces. I get a lot of my inspiration from social media obviously, but more from places I have lived. In New Jersey, we’re dark, sarcastic and rough. This is where my love for leather and denim comes from. After spending 20 summers in Los Angeles, I’ve decided that’s where I belong. I love the bohemian vibes and culture. I’ve integrated the softness of L.A. into the hardness of my Jersey Girl roots.
This summer, I’ll be studying abroad in Valencia, Spain! I cant wait to share my style and theirs with you!
