Hello, Fashionistas/os! My name is Deanna Coll, but I go by Dee. I study fashion merchandising at Mercyhurst University with a minor in business administration. I am also a part of the women’s volleyball team. A lot of people think it is impossible for athletes to be fashionable. Throughout this semester, I am going to prove to you that that is not true. I have always had an eye for fashion, and I’ve tested out new trends ever since middle school. Although bright blue pants may not have been the best choice in seventh grade, I am a little bit more sensible now.
The difference between now and seventh grade is that I now have the confidence to challenge my fashion. Fashion has allowed me to show my creativity and get out of my comfort zone. I have always had a love for photography because it lets me demonstrate my love for fashion through a new perspective.
As we all know, 2016 was all about the neutrals. Mauve was huge this season, so for this outfit I decided to blend together complementary colors. I went with a dark beige, tie-up sweater with a dark green, camo jacket on top. I chose a faded mauve jegging on the bottom to contrast the green and black accents. For accessories, I wore black leather booties and a black choker to tie it all in. To finish the look, I chose a gold watch and sunglasses as well as a color blocked, cross-body purse from Kate Spade.
As you can see, I like to blend classics with trendy or bold styles. This gives my wardrobe versatility, and I am able to go from class to a night out on the town. I’ve learned it is better to incorporate more classics into my wardrobe so that I can mix and match. That way, I can build up an outfit from the basics and add accessories and trendy pieces from there.
I hope you guys loved this look! I am looking forward to showing you more looks throughout the semester. I can’t wait to go on this Fashionista journey with all of you by my side. Make sure to follow me on my other social media to get updates on my new posts!
