Hello again Fashionistas/os! I’m Deionna and this is my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I am super excited to continue on writing about the latest college fashion trends as I make my way through the end of my junior year here at Virginia Commonwealth University.
The past semester interning for CollegeFashionista has taught me so much about blogging, the fashion world and what it means to be #RAD. I’ve gotten to “meet” so many new people and take part in #FashionTalks with inspiring women all over the world. Most of all, I have enjoyed paying closer attention to the diverse fashion trends on my campus and capturing them for you all here.
I now find my own fashion inspiration from fellow Style Gurus on Instagram and the weekly trends on the CollegeFashionista website. Working retail in a mall has definitely played a part in my style as well, because what good is self-control when you have to walk past 20 stores just to get to work?
One of my favorite fall/winter trends this year is over-the-knee boots. I love mine because they go with pretty much anything, and make my legs look longer, which is always appreciated (#shortgirlprobs). To go with my black boots and jeans, I decided to lighten things up with my pastel pink turtleneck sweater, which is perfect for this crazy not-cold-enough-for-coats winter weather that we’re experiencing. The outfit that I’m wearing embodies my style, in that it is simple yet chic, with a touch of girliness. I’m a firm believer that statement accessories should be kept to a minimum, so my biggest problem is always choosing between a flashy necklace and statement earrings.
