Hi Beauties! My name is DeMornay Harper, and I am in my junior year at Texas State University studying advertising with a business minor. This is my first semester as a Style Guru, and I couldn’t be more excited. I am an Aries with a Pisces moon and a Scorpio rising (if anyone else is into astrology), and I pride myself on being a loving, open human. I believe wholeheartedly that we get the energy back that we put into the world, so why not make it good energy? You never know how much of an impact your positivity could have on someone else—even a total stranger!
My personal style is always evolving and changing. I don’t put any boundaries on myself in regards to my fashion tastes. One day, I might wake up and decide I want to look like a boss babe and rock a leather jacket and thigh-highs. The next day, you could catch me emitting super bohemian vibes with gauzy layers and earthy tones. You should never put yourself in a box and restrict your creativity. An expression of your creative self is after all what your fashion sense is. We are all free birds, unhindered, and we should act as such.
I have had a lifestyle blog with a heavy focus in fashion for a little over a year now, and it’s my baby. Harper’s Cause was definitely a labor of love when I first started it, but I am so proud of the content that lives there now.
I love this jumpsuit that I styled here. It is perfect for any setting. My roommate and I call looks like this “Business Lit,” a step above business casual, because it are so versatile. I could throw a jacket over my shoulders and wear this to the office, or I could make it more fun with a pop of color on the belt and my lips and rock this look to a brunch with friends. Wide-leg pants are effortlessly classic and feminine, while the ribbed texture of the material gives it a more dress-down vibe. I styled it with a thin black belt to keep it simple and some cream flats to lighten the tone. The marbled look of the earrings bring together all of the hues in this look and make it a bit more fun!
