My name is Devin Werthauser and I am a junior at the University of Iowa, pursuing a degree in enterprise leadership. I’m so excited to be a Style Guru and hopefully, this will help me take my next steps into the fashion world, as it is a passion of mine. During this next semester, I am going to bring you on a journey of all of the different styles portrayed at the University of Iowa.
As for me, my personal style is bohemian with a hint of grunge. I love bright colors, ruffles and flowy dresses and tunics; but then again, I love black, studs and combat boots. One thing I hate though, JEANS. Leggings, jeggings or anything for that matter with an elastic waist are much better than going through the horrible pain of having a muffin top while your butt looks good… so why not have the best of both worlds? I believe that style is the gateway into your personality and it’s the best way to express yourself; well that, and food!
This is one of my favorite end of summer, heading into fall looks. This romper from Mura has a warm summer flare, while the taupe booties from Urban Outfitters add a nice touch of fall. I matched this look with my all time favorite bucket bag from Free People, my daily jewelry and Ray-Ban sunglasses. This outfit would be great for going to a nice dinner in downtown Iowa City, or even sitting on the patio of my favorite hangout, Cactus, watching the people around you! There are two types of rompers that are a necessity in every wardrobe: a simple romper where you can spice it up with your shoes and jewelry, and a fun patterned one where you will steal the spotlight wherever you go! After walking around Iowa City in this sassy romper, I confirmed my belief that rompers are everything!
I am excited to be your CollegeFashionista Style Guru tour guide at the University of Iowa and share with you all the different styles and personalities here at the University of Iowa.
