Hey guys! My name is Dom and I’m super stoked to be a part of this amazing opportunity with the CollegeFashionista team. This is my first summer, as well as my first time ever, interning for CollegeFashionista, so I hope you all enjoy my articles as much as I’ll enjoy writing them!
I’m an upcoming senior at Georgia State University in the gorgeous and cultural city of Atlanta. I’m currently majoring in journalism, which will soon become a multi-media major due to a merger with the Telecommunications Department. I have lived in Georgia my whole life, but I’ve always considered myself a city girl. Flipping through the pages of Vogue since ninth grade, I’ve always been drawn to art and fashion. Some of my favorite designers include Valentino and Oscar de la Renta, but I’m also very enamored by more modern designers such as Alexander Wang and Adam Selman. My mother used to think I’d become a painter because I was always drawing, reading, or daydreaming (which I still do) as a young girl. However, as I grew older I went through certain phases in my life that developed the personal style I have today. Fashion and how I apply it to my everyday style is a way I can express myself without speaking. I love playing with different categories of style and I never let any specific one define me. They are all me.
Living and going to school in Atlanta has also shaped and influenced my style. The people in this city are so inspiring with their bold street style and artistic personalities. One can’t help but reflect this diverse city in their own personal style. Atlanta is my campus, but when I’m not trudging to class or exploring various local hotspots, I browse through Tumblr, fashion magazines, or fashion blogs that inspire me. One of my favorite stores is American Apparel for its classic style and solid monochromatic color palettes. I adore the denim tops and light wash high-waisted jeans because they’re great statement pieces and are extremely versatile.
I’m looking forward to improving my personal style and writing skills, as well as working with my fellow Style Gurus at CollegeFashionista this summer! I’ve even started my own blog in the hope of becoming a better writer, stylist and photographer. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me as I gain experience from my internship with CollegeFashionista. Stay tuned for awesome articles revolving around stylish students at the wonderful campus of Georgia State and don’t forget to RAD all the articles you like!
