Greetings Fashionistas/os! I’m Elisa Park and I am currently a third year student at the University of Virginia. Fashion and advertisements have always interested me, and I’m excited to begin working with CollegeFashionista this semester by profiling student style across Grounds, here at UVA. It’s my second semester with CollegeFashionista, and I can’t wait for it start!
My interest in fashion began when I was little, where I would put ridiculous pieces of clothing together and wear them to school—from military print pants to furry black vests, throughout elementary school until high school! I never followed the trendy styles, but chose to wear what I loved (at the time) and what I thought looked good and fun. I believe that style is a form of expression for everyone, and putting together a good outfit that not only looks great, but also allows one to feel confident contributes to the unique identity of any individual. Trends come and go, but simple and classic shapes are forever considered stylish.
That being said, my personal style has definitely transformed over the years. Now, a great outfit does not have to be over the top, but rather can incorporate minimalistic pieces to create an amazing look. This black oversized coat and these sneakers have been major staples in my fall/winter wardrobe this year. They are both simple, but easy to wear while staying cozy. My cross-body with the croc-embossed texture adds some exciting detail to the overall simple look.
I’m excited to encounter people with different styles across Grounds and share them with everyone! Remember, as Yves Saint Laurent once said, “Fashion fades, style is forever.” Cheers to another RAD semester filled with amazing style across Grounds!
