Greetings Fashionistas! I am a junior Fashion Design major at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. I was born on the East Coast but have spent the majority of my life as a West Coast girl.
Fashion has been a lifelong love of mine. As a child, I would always have fashion shows in the kitchen when my mom’s friends were over. Then during high school I put on a charity fashion show and donated all of the proceeds to The Princess Project, which helps girls afford to go to prom. After graduating high school, I knew I wanted to pursue something creative, and after two gap years, I ended up at art school.
My personal style is casual and sometimes funky. If I’m feeling bold, I will throw on lots of color, but if I’m just headed to school I usually prefer a comfy simplified outfit. Some of my style icons are Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and the women of Quentin Tarantino films. I also love skate and punk culture and feel like my style is influenced by all of these things, maybe just not all at once.
As well as clothing, I love jewelry. I usually wear the same bracelets, rings and earrings everyday. I like to wear jewelry that I can keep on so I don’t have to worry about accessorizing everyday.
In the outfit featured I am wearing a mix of high, low and vintage. I love mixing high and low pieces; it makes my expensive pieces feel more special when they are paired with pieces like stained jeans or torn flannels. As a student at an art school, most of my jeans are either torn or stained with inks and paints. I definitely embrace the art school style and try to make it cool.
In the next few years I hope to further my art and sewing skills, take on some outside projects and prepare for my senior fashion show.
