Hello there, fellow fashion enthusiasts! My name is Elle and this is my second semester with CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru. Although I grew up in Michigan, I am currently attending Philadelphia University and living in Philadelphia year-round. I love Philly and am looking forward to sharing the unique personal styles of the Philadelphia fashionistas.
During the summertime, I often face a common struggle-wanting to look stylish while wearing the lightest layer of clothing possible. Thankfully, we have not yet been hit with uncomfortably hot weather here on the East Coast. This makes it possible for me to wear this MSFTSREP painted trench hoodie that I stole from my boyfriend’s closet—an unlikely, but very cheap place to shop—as a dress. Since the hoodie stands out all alone, I kept it simple with accessories, wearing my everyday gold watch, bracelets and rings. I chose my trusty black Céline luggage tote to carry all of my necessities. Keeping with the sporty vibe of the hoodie, I decided to wear my white leather Vans Sk8 Hi Slim Mesh sneakers. Something that you will almost never find me without is either sunglasses or eyeglasses on my face. Here, I am wearing my favorite pair of mirrored sunnies that I purchased on a recent trip to China. They have my prescription in the lens, making them easy to throw on to really tie an outfit together. Something else that you will rarely see me leaving the house without is my matte nude lipstick. I discovered ColourPop Cosmetics a few months ago and have been obsessed with their matte Lippie Stix and more recently their Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks, such as the one I am wearing here, Chi. Of course, I have also tried the Kylie LipKit in Candy K, but I actually prefer the cheaper ColourPop formula.
