Since I openly admit to being a shoe addict and Instagram junkie, it only makes sense that I’m back at CollegeFashionista for round two! As a refresher, Hi, I’m Emily Cole. I’m entering my junior year at the Savannah College of Art and Design where I major in fashion marketing and management.
Other than wandering around Savannah, enjoying all the local coffee shops and being consumed in homework, I spend a lot of my time as Style Director at The Manor, which is SCAD’s official fashion blog. It’s really satisfying working and being surrounded by a team of people who love fashion as much as I do!
It’s hard to pinpoint exactly where I think my style is. The way I like to describe it to people is that I’m a crisp, white button-down and a head of messy bed-hair kind of girl. I always like to look polished and purposeful, but in a way that looks effortless. Also, I’m bad at doing my hair, so the bedhead is a given. I find most of my inspiration from street style; I’m obsessed with how experimental it is. Also, I like to play around with different silhouettes and recently, I’ve been trying to expand the color range in my closet, but I’m a sucker for neutrals.
This is definitely a casual look for me, but I added an extra pop of color with my yellow slides from Mango. While I was interning at Halston Heritage in New York this summer, I popped into a store called & Other Stories and found these stellar white, denim culottes. I don’t normally gravitate towards white denim, but these were a must to add to my denim collection. I’ve been into graphic T-shirts again and this one looks pretty classic America with its muted colors and bald eagle. I finished off the look with a bold, red lip and my sunglasses from Ray-Ban. Most of the time simple and classic are your best options!
