Hey, Fashionista/os! My name is Emily Garren and I am a sophomore at Manhattan College studying Communications with a focus in Broadcasting and a minor in English! I am thrilled to say that this is my second semester with CollegeFashionista and I am so excited to get started! Some of my favorite things consist of Jane the Virgin, iced coffee with extra sugar and extra ice, French fries and of course let’s not forget Chris Pine.
Marilyn Monroe once said, “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” It may seem silly to some, but this is one of my favorite quotes as I truly believe this statement. In my opinion, if someone feels confident and happy about the way they look, the chances are they will have a more positive day. I have always been the person to dress up for school at all times, even on my sickest days. Just because I felt so crummy on the inside didn’t mean that I had to make that apparent in my appearance. This is not to say that a Fashionista/o must wear heels, makeup or dressy clothes to achieve this state of mind. It’s all about having confidence in yourself and feeling great about the way you look. One’s inner beauty and happiness pours out onto their appearance, so dress up to the occasion. Look good, feel good!
My latest obsession this fall, as many can relate to, is with boots/booties! One thing about me that will never change is my fixation on my new purchases and my determination to wear such purchase as soon as possible and as many times as I can in a short period of time. My latest purchase is light gray suede and sweater high heeled boots. I have had them in my online shopping cart for the longest time, and while shopping at the mall, I happened to find the last pair in MY size! Is it fate you ask? Most people would think I am crazy, but that’s what I keep telling myself and my sad, dwindling bank account. Now that the temperatures are finally dropping, a Fashionista/o will need something super snuggly but stylish to keep him or her warm! This poncho is the perfect fit along with a pair of simple black leggings. You can’t forget to add some sparkle and shine around your neck, wrists and ears!
I look forward to a semester full of fun, fierce and RAD fashion!
