Hello there, college Fashionistas! My name is Emily Halvorson and I am currently going to school at Washington State University and studying Apparel Merchandising with a focus in Product Development. I can honestly say that I enjoy my major and the program here! I really love the fact that I can be so creative while still implementing the business feel. I feel very lucky to be in the major that I am and that I found it so early on.
When I first came to college, I had really wanted to be an Environmental Science major; but then I realized I am not too good at science (ha ha). I sat down one day and really thought hard about what my dream job would be, and if you ask me today, it still is the same thing: making crafts. I find it so amazing that people think so little of their clothes because it is such an important aspect in our lives. It is the first impression you give people without having to say a word, and I find that incredible. It is a way for humans to express themselves and to control how they want to be perceived by others around them.
So with that being said, I decided to wear a romper today, mostly due to it being so hot out. I love wearing rompers because they are lightweight as well as an easy way for college aged girls to look cute and comfortable all while being on the go! I put on some big sunglasses and kept to my Hawaiian sandals, which are a favorite for me. I also love wearing rings to add more to my overall look.
I am so excited to be able to show what the women and men of Washington State University are wearing while strutting through campus in our first semester back! I also hope to be able to give you some new ideas on fashion so you can implement them into your own lives. Stay #RAD.
