Hello, fellow Fashionista/os! My name is Emily Kerekes, and I am a junior Writing major at James Madison University. A few of my favorite activities include searching for the comfiest cardigan, over-packing my suitcase, going to the beach and holding photoshoots for me and my best friends! This is my first internship with CollegeFashionista, and I could not be more excited to have the opportunity to share some of my style with you guys! Coming from a small town on the Jersey Shore and going to school in Virginia, I was exposed to two very different areas with two very different styles. I believe that this definitely helped shape and develop my style into a blend of many looks. To keep up with the latest trends, I love to follow fashion Instagram accounts and keep up to date with some of my friend’s fashion blogs. I, also, love to look at look books from some of my favorite fashion websites, such as TOBI and NASTY GAL.
Over time, I have developed the belief that it is important to keep an open mind about different fashion trends. By following different bloggers, it’s a great way to do that and to get new ideas as well! Throughout high school, I attended a private school where a uniform was my everyday “go-to” style. It wasn’t until I got to college that I was able to explore what type of looks I liked or even wanted to try. I believe that in order to expand your personal style, you have to be willing to take risks. I have bought several pieces of clothing that, at first, were completely outside of my comfort zone. However, with encouragement from my mom and finally saying “Whatever, I’ll try it on,” it is those pieces of clothing that have become some of my favorites!
