Hello, fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! I am excited to be back for my second semester as a Style Guru. In case we haven’t seen crossed paths before, I will tell you a few things about myself. This is the second half of my sophomore year at Kent State University, and I am majoring in fashion merchandising. I am also minoring in both fashion media and visual communications design. Sometimes I describe my style as “classic”, but that is not always true. I do enjoy trying a few new trends every year, and I cannot deny that there have been days when I give in to casual outfits (sweatpants).
My go-to outfit is a pair of jeans, my favorite black booties, and a pretty blouse or sweater. As you can see, that is what I chose for my bio. This time, I went with a blouse. Underneath a green parka, I am wearing a bell-sleeve top with a black and red floral print. This adds contrast to the otherwise cool tones in my outfit. I recommend a pattern as an update to the bell-sleeve trend, such as this or this. A simple look is great for going out or for shopping in the city because it removes having to deal with complicated layers.
Lastly, my goals for this semester of CollegeFashionista are to come up with more creative ideas for my articles and meet more of my Style Guru peers. I can’t wait to see what awesome things result from this semester!
