Hi everyone! I’m Emily Martini and I am a sophomore at Drexel University. I am studying Communications with a concentration in Journalism. Since I was 13 years old, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in writing, so I’m very excited to finally be working towards my dreams.
Along with writing, fashion and music have also been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always considered the “different” or “creative” one—titles I grew into and now love. Being different and creative has made me the person I am today and has given me the distinct style I call my own.
When it comes to my personal style, I pull inspiration from everything around me. I am a tomboy at heart but also love the confidence a simple dress and heels can give you. On a typical day, you can find me in my favorite high-rise black skinnies paired with a vintage T-shirt and one of my many pairs of Dr. Martens. My closet is overflowing with leather jackets and black boots. Those are two staples I can’t live without. But with all that being said, my style is ever-changing. As I matured and moved through the different stages of life, so dis my style. I am excited to see where I’ll be 10 years from now, but I hope I’ll still have a pair of Dr. Martens strapped to my feet and a flannel tied around my waist.
While not in class, I spend most of my down time working. Being a Style Guru will be the third internship on my plate this summer. I am currently working at Free People here in Philadelphia, as well as interning at Live Nation. I love the satisfaction you get from a long hard days of work. I know a lot of 20-year-olds who would disagree with me, but working three jobs has shown me what it really takes to follow your dreams. I have been lucky enough make my passions into working realities and I am so grateful to continue that here with CollegeFasionista.
This is definitely going to be a summer to remember. I can’t wait to grow and gain hands on experience being a Style Guru. Working for CollegeFasionista is an incredible experience and I am excited to share it with you all. Stay tuned!
