STYLE GURU BIO: Emily Potrzuski

Hey Fashionistas/os! My name is Emily Potrzuski and I am a junior at Fairleigh Dickinson University where I major in communication studies. I am beyond excited to be a Style Guru for the spring!

I’ve always had an eye for fashion, even from the time I was little. My mom would always pick out the most stylish outfits for me and I am so thankful for that. Her picking out these outfits led me to how I dress today. If it wasn’t for both my mom and grandmom having such good taste in clothes, I probably wouldn’t be as in love with clothes as I actually am.

If you were to ask me what my style is, I would have to say that I truly do not know. My style changes with the weather; one day I could be wearing a boho-chic outfit and the following day have a ‘90s grunge look. I will say that Francesca’s Boutique has greatly influenced my sense of style over the past three years.

The outfit featured in this post is boho. The olive green jeggings are easily one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. The pleats going down the middle of the leg as opposed to the inside of the leg give these pants an edgier look. The white chiffon blouse provides comfort up top. It also doesn’t make you sweat! With the neckline of the shirt being so plain, I decided to add a gold statement necklace to make the outfit look more fun. My rose gold watch from Juicy Couture and a ring from Pandora are my two staples that I wear with practically every outfit. I never used to be a fan of mixing colors, but now I do it all the time! My Versace framed glasses contribute even more to the boho look. Completing this look are classic brown boots, something that every girl should have in their closet.

Fashion is just like music, you are able to express yourself without opening your mouth. Rachel Zoe said it best, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.”
