Hey there, Fashionistas! My name is Emily. I’m originally from Pittsburgh, but I am currently studying fashion at Kent State University Fashion School as a freshman. I’ve lived and breathed fashion for as long as I can remember and I’ve known for years that this is what I would be studying in college. Being a fashion major is everything I have ever hoped it would be, and being able to be a part of the #GuruGang for CollegeFashionista has made it even more exciting!
The fashion industry excites me, and with it’s ever-changing, fast-paced nature, there’s always room for creative freedom and ideas. I hope to one day be traveling the world capturing the beauty of fashion everywhere. Fashion is what you make it. I strongly believe that one should lead fashion instead of simply following it. Don’t ever be afraid to make a statement and be you because that is what fashion is all about. My own personal style changes everyday. You can find me in anything from street clothes and high top sneakers to a feminine dress from a boutique in New York. I love fashion because you can make it your own.
For this look, I took a basic black long sleeve T-shirt and paired it with my favorite oversize sweater vest. I went with my army green jeggings and fuzzy leg warmers to add a little bit of color to the black. With as much snow as we’ve seen in Ohio lately, I couldn’t go wrong with my black and gold soled Steve Madden zip boots. For the final touch, I decided to wear just a couple of my favorite winter accessories; my red gloves and pom pom hat. My gold bead necklace also completed the look.
I hope this look inspires some of your upcoming winter fashion ideas! Also, never be afraid to break out a bold red lip.
