Hello gorgeous! My name is Emma O’Brien and I am an English major at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I’m so excited to be a Style Guru this semester, and I can’t wait to add my very own flavor to this great site!
I’m a D.C. girl at my core, and I love to sport edgier city styles around my campus in the Shenandoah area. I would describe my style as girly meets funky. I love playing with contrasting themes, and adding fun twists to classic ideas. For instance, my outfit here is a simple raincoat over a crop top and leggings; but as I’m sure you can see they’re a little unorthodox. My leggings are high waisted shiny lycra and they are my absolute favorite closet staple. My shoes are a pair of white leather Doc Martens and my raincoat is a great iridescent piece I dug up at Missguided. My personal fashion rule is simply that there are no rules. I’m the only person I know that’ll wear Wal-Mart and kate spade at the same time. Fashion is all about risks, and I’m always telling my friends to go out on a limb. Don’t let others limit your own personal style; if you love it, wear it!
As a plus sized woman, I hope to show guys and gals of all shapes and sizes that being fabulous isn’t limited to just those slender chicos and chicas out there. I’m a huge proponent of self love and hope to spread said love through CollegeFashionista this summer!
