Howdy there, Fashionistas and Fashionistos, and welcome to my STYLE GURU BIO!
I am beyond excited to begin this internship, and the documentation of college style in one of the largest fashion centers of the world: London, England. During the spring 2016 semester, I will be studying abroad in London as I take a break from the corn and soybean swept prairies of central Illinois at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I am a News-Editorial Journalism major.
As with most things in life, my style journey has been one of exploration and experimentation. From brands and fits to colors and patterns, these elements all culminate in an ever-evolving presentation of myself that I am looking forward to sharing with you. In regards to styling, I try my best not to limit myself. I believe style is personal, and what a person chooses to wear, or not wear, is reflective of a person’s individuality. Every day is a new day, so I allow myself to switch up my look based on what I’m feeling when I get ready. One day I may want to dress preppy, another I may dress grungy, and another still, I may dress with a classic vibe. I often let my imagination run a bit wild before I head out the door every day.
Another significant part of my styling process is my beauty and makeup routine. This routine also varies from outfit to outfit, but one thing I almost always include is a statement lip color. I feel like a nice pop of color on one’s lips really tops off a look. I feel too, that wearing lip color adds a level of professionalism to any outfit.
To wrap it up, I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to have this position, and I thank you for coming along with me on this fabulous, fashionable journey. I can’t wait to see what style is in store.
