When I first moved to Philly for school, I was excited about the city’s rich history, growing music and art scenes and the distinctly Philadelphian culture. I wasn’t expecting a thriving fashion scene, but between an ever-expanding shopping district and annual Philadelphia Fashion Week events, Philly is the perfect city for a young fashion blogger.
I’m still a Jersey Girl at heart, but I feel lucky to live in such an exciting city. Thanks to my personal blog, my internship at Philadelphia Style Magazine and my adventure-hungry heart, I’ve learned so much about my new city in the short year and a half that I’ve lived here and I can’t wait to learn more. I’m always up to explore, try a new coffee shop or restaurant or just get lost somewhere!
My personal style changes from day to day, but my go-to items include my trusty Dr. Martens, an oversized maroon cardigan and a huge collection of hair accessories. Right now I’m loving faux fur, tennis skirts and rose gold jewelry, but who knows which looks I’ll be lusting over next week! Catch me twirling around in a baby pink tulle skirt one day but running to class in Converse and my favorite flannel the next.
Most of the items in this look were thrifted (including the incredible shawl that my best friend snagged for me at a thrift store in Iceland!), but you can make it your own by pairing a velvet dress with a pair of glitter booties and a cute embellished bag. Raid your mom’s jewelry collection like I did (hey, we’re home for winter break for a reason, right?) and you’ll be ready to eat, drink and be merry long after the holidays are over.
When I’m not exploring my city or writing about my stylish classmates, I’m a sophomore studying journalism and English. You can find me reading, journaling and blogging all over campus.
I can’t wait to show “yous” how Philly does fashion from my little corner of the city: Temple University. Check back every month and follow along!
