I’m excited to begin another semester with CollegeFashionista! It’s the perfect time of year; the holidays are here. Baking is among my favorite things to do during the winter season, along with watching Christmas movies and hanging out with my friends who are home for break. I also love shopping for gifts (for myself and for everyone else).
I spoiled myself this past week and ordered a pair of sock boots, which are super trending right now. The impatience is building, I can’t wait to try them on! They are continuing my obsession with ’60s and ’70s influenced style.
I’ve been a huge fan of the ’70s trend that has been lingering on the runways for a couple months now and I’ve adapted some mod styling into my outfits. Because of this, I’ve been really into wearing dresses over everything. In my photos, I’m wearing a burnt orange mod dress with pockets over my skinny jeans. It’s great. If you want to talk about being comfortable but looking totally stylish at the same time, we can chat. I also continued the ’70s vibe with chunky gold jewelry from a fair trade company called Mata Traders. I’m extremely passionate about fair trade, so these pieces were right up my alley. I finished off my look with a pair of Nine West brown booties.
I love reading about new trends while putting my own twist on them. I’m not afraid to try new styles or looks, because the worst that can happen is I change my outfit half way through the day! It seems like a win-win to me; the more outfits, the better!
I’m looking forward to a relaxing, but productive break! I would love to keep sewing and improve my skills in style of course! Happy Holidays!
