Hello to all my fellow fab Fashionistas/os! My name is Evanne Rachelle Abneri (pronounced evan ra-shell ab-nair-ie), but I usually go by Ev or that girl other there with the really cute outfit. I grew up in a small cutesy town on Long Island about halfway between the Big Apple and the Hamptons. While my close proximity to New York City and witnessing the lavish life style of the seasonal Hampton goers without a doubt influenced my personal style, I would be lying if I said these past three years in my new stomping grounds that is Philadelphia haven’t been completely inspiring and transformational in every way.
I am currently a senior at Temple University double majoring in legal studies as well as entrepreneurship and innovation management. I have plans to pursue higher education at Fordham Law School’s fashion law program then work in the fashion world as an in house counsel for a fashion conglomerate, create my own brand and then also my backup plan of taking over the world with my sheer force of fabulousness.
I don’t know if my passion for fashion started with my first bathing suit (which was a leopard bikini) or my oversized baby pink leather jacket I wore as a toddler. Maybe it was even those tan heeled, JLo Timberland booties I stomped around my elementary school in; but there is no going back. I am a firm believer that you can do anything if you have the right outfit.
In fact, it was in one of my favorite outfits I met some of the CollegeFashionista team at a #RAD event they hosted at the Steve Madden in Philadelphia earlier this fall. So to fully comprehend why I am beyond excited to now be writing for CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru, here are some of my fashion favorites you need to know about me before we take this Fashionista friendship any further.
If there is one thing you need to know about me is that I love leather! While the leather jacket is my favorite staple a quick look into my closet you’ll see my love for leather takes all shapes and sizes in shorts, skirts, vests, leggings and shoes!
True life I’m addicted to Steve Madden, it’s a problem (for my bank account at least). My shoe collection, yes it is referred to as a collection, consists mainly Steve Madden. My current go-to shoes are these a-maz-ing black leather heeled booties, which are not only perfect for secretly giving me a couple extra inches but are also super comfortable to wear everyday!
As you can see from my graphic baseball T-shirt, I’m all about good times and good vibes, which is why I love that the ’70s are trending so hard! My two favorite ’70s trends are suede and bell-bottoms which is why when I found these RAD pants at H&M I couldn’t find my way to the dressing room faster.
