Guess who’s back?! My name is Gabby Ricciuti-Gomes, and I am extremely excited to say that I’ll be back as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru for the winter/spring semester! Fall fashion is pretty exciting, but winter and spring are where some true fashion statements come forth. Even though Binghamton will be stuck in an eternal winter from now until May, I have faith that in even the most dreadful days the most glorious Fashionistas and Fashionistos will emerge.
As many of you may have guessed, my personal style is pretty much targeted to the boho trend. I love clothes that flow, especially boyfriend jeans, thermal sweaters, floppy hats and statement piece necklaces just like what I have on. However, with the temperature rapidly dropping, most of what you have on underneath slowly comes second to the coat you wear on top. In Binghamton it is pretty essential to wear a huge winter coat that keeps you warm, but lately I’ve been seeing more and more winter jackets designed for both warmth and style.
This semester it will be pretty difficult to tell what a Fashionista or Fashionisto has on underneath their coat through all of the snow and rain we will be getting, but I’ll be sure to keep a look out for those winter accessories that stand out amongst the crowd. I’m excited to see more and more beanies, headbands, giant scarves and warm mittens. Fashion statements can still be made although the temperatures are consistently in the 20s. Watch out Binghamton—just because it’s winter doesn’t mean fashion will be hibernating. I’ll be looking for you!
