Hello fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Gabriela Casella and I am so excited to begin the summer as a Style Guru! I have always been fascinated with fashion, ever since I picked up a sketchbook in Barnes & Noble when I was five. I started sketching outfits that I wanted to wear after being frustrated that I couldn’t find clothing that fit my ever changing style. Since then, my style has matured quite a bit, keeping with a monochromatic color scheme and bold accessories. Something that is synonymous with my love for fashion is my love for New York City. Living so close to the city has enabled me to explore so many parts of it, but it still leaves me feeling as if I haven’t seen it at all. That is why I am beyond excited to be going into my freshman year at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan.
Something I tell everyone who asks me for style advice is that comfort is key. If you are comfortable in your clothes, then you will feel confident and powerful. That is why all my pieces are made out of soft fabrics and fit my body perfectly; so I can feel positive all day long. Comfort, however, does not mean you have to sacrifice style. I am always striving to find comfortable garments that can be paired with bold accent pieces like fringe heels or a stand-out bag. Since I am a shortie, heels are a staple in my wardrobe and a must have for all of my outfits. Also, I think they add a certain elegance and grace to any look.
Even though I do stick to somewhat of an classic style, I am heavily inspired by my surroundings and the people that I surround myself with. I am so excited to begin this exciting journey as well as to share my creativity and style with the world. I can’t wait to become inspired by this new city and all the other amazing stylistas out there!
