Hi! My name is Gabrielle Calder. I am a freshman fashion merchandising major, with a fashion media minor at Kent State University. Fashion is something that has inspired me since I was little and I am so thrilled to be a part of this team. I love thinking outside the box and fashion is one of the few ways I let my creativity show.
To me style is something that is very personal. Every person’s style is different and that is what makes fashion so exciting. When people wear clothing that really reflects their personality, it is obvious through the confidence they present while wearing the outfit. At the end of the day if you like it, then that is all that matters. I love deciding who I want to be that day depending on what I wear. I could go from being super bohemian to wearing all black in a matter of hours.
My outfit is simple with just one main component, the overalls. I like my outfits to contain one stand out piece and all of the other pieces to be minimal. I kept the whole thing very modern by adding a pair of black leather boots, which can be seen everywhere this season. The red bomber adds interest and a pop to the outfit, without being too overpowering. I added a basic black turtleneck to keep warm and balance the look. My watch is a staple in my wardrobe and for me—no look is complete without it.
