Hello fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Gabrielle Head and I am a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I was born and raised in the lovely city of Charlotte, North Carolina and have ventured to Greensboro to major in Consumer, Apparel and Retail Studies. This is my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and I am so eager to share with you all the creative souls on my campus!
One thing you should know about me is I like to keep myself busy. Accompanying my internship with CollegeFashionista, I am a Product Coordinator/Intern for Valentia Ifuerza, a local design company in Greensboro. Be on the lookout for the latest VI products in my posts! I will also be a Spartan Guide for UNCG Admissions starting next fall. So, if you think this campus might be a good fit for you, make sure to book a tour and see what campus life here is all about!
My dream is to one day become a corporate buyer for an apparel company. The process of how merchandise travels from design to retail environment is so intriguing. I want to see the world, experience new cultures and discover exotic fashion. I’d love to study abroad in the near future.
I’ll shop anywhere! I frequently visit eclectic consignment shops and thrift stores. Finding great pieces at unbelievable prices is liberating for me. I always try to get the most bang for my buck and have an eye for bargains. As for my personal style, it’s a little bipolar. One day I could be feeling refined and classy like Lauren Conrad, while the next day I feel urban and edgy like Rihanna. I’d say that I am pretty feminine but, there is a more rugged side to me as well. No matter what type of mood I might be in, there are a few preferences of mine that remain. I have a slight obsession with reptile textured items. In my closet, you’ll find everything from tailored pants to book bags covered in scales! I love shoes, especially high heels (I’m a little on the short side).
In my opinion, fashion is all about building a persona. The perfect outfit may very well include aspects other than apparel, such as makeup and hair. With that being said, I’ll try my best to keep my posts here at CollegeFashionista as interesting as possible. Tips, tricks and steals that you can incorporate into your own style! There are many chic students to come across and much fashion to capture. I am growing as a young woman and am excited to diva strut down the path of my journey with you all! Stay beautiful and stay tuned!
