Hi guys! My name is Gabrielle Orefici and I grew up in Huntington, New York. I am a freshman at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. I just began my two year associates degree in advertising marketing and communications, with a minor in pizza eating (just kidding, I wish!)
It is proven that you know what you like to do by the age of three and for me that light bulb went off as a freshman in high school. I spontaneously took the Long Island railroad and went to the open house for the Fashion Institute of Technology. Love at first sight was real! Growing up I struggled with finding a path where I felt I belonged. I live in a preppy town, that is lacrosse/sport heavy (to say the least), and being severely unathletic was the only talent I thought I had. I always loved dressing up and stealing my Mom’s lipgloss but never seemed to realize that my niche was at my fingertips.
Ever since the lightbulb went off, I’ve become more myself than ever before. I also dove headfirst into educating myself into fashion and beauty by taking pre-college classes at FIT, reading up on tons of blogs and watching tutorials/clothing hauls religiously. I am the friend that everyone calls when they are in a fashion or beauty rut.
My style aesthetic consists of lots of black and white, I am typically a human Oreo (my favorite cookie ever). I like to break it up with other neutral toned colors like gray and white, sometimes adding a pop of pattern or bold coloring. I am a firm believer of not labeling your style because style is your own but, if I had to narrow it down, my outfits range from bohemian to minimalistic to normcore. You will find me raiding the racks of Zara—there is absolutely no doubt about it.
I am so excited to take you guys along with me this summer as we explore summer fashion while soaking up the sun and on my first journey as a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista!
