Hello to all of you beautiful Fashionistas!
My name is Gabrielle Sarrett, and as a first-time Style Guru, I cannot express how thrilled I am to have been chosen to write about how I enjoy expressing myself most—fashion. I am a sophomore at West Virginia University, and my goal is to study a fusion of both psychology and fashion. It seems far fetched at first thought, I know, but I believe there is psychology to everything. And why not combine the two things I’m most passionate about?
Growing up, I always admired how stylish my mother was, and loved dressing up with her. To this day, our favorite bonding time is a little retail therapy! Not to mention, still borrow each other’s clothes. Thanks to her, fashion has become my main creative outlet. It wasn’t until recently that I recognized this, as well as my appreciation for what it truly is. To me, fashion is more than just industry. It is my favorite form of art, allowing me to reflect how I feel from the inside to the outside.
Here, I am wearing a paisley bell-sleeve crop top, a black asymmetrical maxi skirt, and black pointed toe booties. To combat the cold weather, I chose a black fedora hat, and a black peacoat as my outerwear. My bell-sleeve shirt gives off some vintage vibes, so I decided to pair it with some gold stack-able rings and some cute gold arrow earrings!
I am so excited to share my evolution of fashion with all of you this semester, as it is changing constantly!
I would also like to dedicate this article to my inspiration, my late Mamaw Judy Sarrett! She was a timeless beauty and I would not be where I am today without her.
