Hello fashion friends! As I begin my third semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru and Social Media Intern, I am overjoyed. Writing for CollegeFashionista has heightened my love for this industry beyond words, and gaining firsthand exposure to new aspects of my future has kept me more ambitious than ever.
Somewhere along the way, I have officially reached the ‘pre-adult’ phase of college as I enter my junior year at Bloomsburg University. I’m a marketing/management student and a fashion and media enthusiast (so yes, I’m probably stalking your Instagram, too.) On the side, you’ll find me overindulging in pizza and defining my success solely by the amount of Drake lyrics I can relate to. Basically, I’m just a 20-year-old with compulsive shopping habits and a dad-like sense of humor.
Fashion is the ongoing exploration of originality in our world, and I’m all about the artistic, self-expression that goes into everyday style aesthetics. For me, personal style has always relied on the basics. A good pair of high-waisted jeans and a sleek bodysuit will always suffice. The classics are classics for a reason, and versatility and comfort are two of my best friends. But recently, with a helpful push of inspiration from evolving social media trends, I’ve veered away from an all basics wardrobe, and found myself balancing with a few statement pieces in their place. One trendy, detailed piece, like an embroidered bomber, in an outfit full of neutrals is all you need to amp up your wardrobe and make life a little more exciting.
