Hi lovelies! My name is Gabrielle Zepeda and I attend Loyola University Chicago. Originally from San Diego, California, I made the decision to trade the beaches for the city and it was by far one of the best decisions I have made thus far. I am a second-year public relations major with a marketing minor, and I could not be more thrilled for this CollegeFashionista opportunity.
As a little girl, I knew that the world of fashion was always in the cards for me. The mall was a coveted destination that never ceased to inspire the best part of myself. The ability to search for and invest in an outfit that made me feel like I could conquer the world was a magical endeavor. When high school approached, my best friend and I made it a point to browse the malls at least once a week after school. While this was our way of bonding, it soon became my way of obtaining the inspiration that eventually guided me to be the person I am today.
Nowadays, the competition in the fashion industry has exuded the expectations of fashion icons from the past. With high end brands trying to outdo the other, it can be difficult to remember the reason why creativity is so important to our beings and this industry. Through this internship, I hope to rekindle the creativity and notions that once inspired me on the path I am on today. Fashion is a universal asset that has been uniting different people across the seas. Whether it is through outfit advice or accessory findings, I hope this semester I will be able to ignite the same passion for fashion in others that I have personally acquired over the years.
As I close this bio, I want to share a few things about myself so you all get to know me a little bit better. Before I found PR, my passion was musical theater. The feeling of being on stage was unlike any other in the world. I felt like I could connect with strangers on a personal level through the characters’ stories I was portraying. Now, with my rekindled love for writing on a more public scale, I hope to connect with all of the Style Gurus who make CollegeFashionista what it is.
I cannot wait for this semester to get started and see all of the #RAD articles everyone will originate for CollegeFashionista. This opportunity is, in the words of High School Musical, “the start of something new” for me, and I am so grateful to be a part of it. Be sure to follow my social media accounts to stay up to date on all of my adventures!
