Hi, my name is Grace Callis, and I’m a sophomore at the University of Missouri. I’m originally from Sedalia, Missouri, which is a small town about an hour away from Columbia. I’m currently studying Textiles and Apparel Management with an emphasis in Marketing and Merchandising. With my degree, I’d like to become a buyer for a large corporation such as Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom.
On a typical day, you’ll find me in athletic leisure wear. I love to workout, so my everyday wardrobe is a little more relaxed. When I do dress up, my style is a little more whimsical. I like loose fitting, yet elegant garments that I still feel comfortable in. My style has evolved since I got to Mizzou. Before starting college, I never took many risks with my wardrobe. College has definitely brought me out of my shell and I’m so excited to experiment more with my style! Some of my favorite places to shop are Francesca’s, Free People, lululemon and Cha Boutique in Columbia!
I’ve always been interested in fashion. My mom instilled a love of fashion in me at a very young age. It has always been something that we have shared, which has been very special to me! Everything I know about the industry, I learned from her. To me, fashion is like an art form. Everyone views fashion through their own “lens” so to speak. I think that everyone’s individual style can be appreciated. Fashion is so multifaceted, so it is very easy to mix and match different styles to reflect your personality.
