Hello there, my fellow Fashionista/os! My name is Grace Masching and this is my second semester as a Style Guru. I am a senior at Illinois State University majoring in Marketing and minoring in Organizational Leadership. When I am not in class or posing for my fashion Instagram account, you can find me drinking coffee and/or watching trashy reality TV. E! News is basically my bible and celebrity gossip is my favorite topic to discus.
My love for playing dress up as a little girl grew into my passion. I knew that CollegeFashionista was the perfect way for me to express my love for fashion; and last semester was like a dream. I find that my fashion inspiration comes from my mother who has instilled in me that overdressing is always better than the alternative. I shop mostly at Forever 21 and H&M, although small town boutique clothing often makes an appearance in my wardrobe as well. I don’t usually pay attention to what is trendy or cool but instead I wear the clothes I love and try to rock it to the best of my ability.
As for future plans? As cliché as it may sound, I am the perfect example of a small town girl with big city dreams. I hope to work as a buyer and then eventually open my own boutique. I want to hold onto my small town roots while continuing to reach for my dream in the fashion world.
Something that I am very passionate about is dressing for you and only you. Don’t feel pressured to rock a certain trend if you don’t feel comfortable in it; the best accessory is confidence and you can’t get the knock-off version anywhere. As a Style Guru, I can’t wait to find these confident Fashionistas/os and write about their very unique looks.
