STYLE GURU BIO: Grey Asmus

Hey guys! Ecstatic to be sharing my first post with you guys, the first of many for this semester. I am currently a second semester sophomore at Temple University, and a risk management and insurance major in the Fox School of Business… yes, it is just as scary as it sounds. Last summer, I had a change of heart where I decided to change from strategic communications, a more laid-back profession, to something a bit more structured. I am hoping that being a Style Guru this semester will keep things fun, though. I also work at a juice and burrito bar in Center City, Philadelphia, which occupies the other half of my time.

When I do have a second to spare, I go straight to my sorority sisters for the fun. Almost a year ago now, I went through Panhellenic recruitment and found my home at Delta Zeta here at Temple, and I cannot stress enough how much it has changed my life. Having 130 best friends has made me the happiest I have ever been, and learning that true love can come from friends (or as I like to call them, sisters), rather than boys, has changed the way I go through college.

Over the past six months, my wardrobe has slowly become full of business casual clothes, so I take full advantage of any time when I am able to style myself any way I like. On a day to day basis, I go to class in typical black leggings and some sort of sweatshirt or “srat” T-shirt, including my beloved woolly thread. But on trips to the city or a night out to dinner, I especially love a good sweater, as I am wearing here, and one of my numerous pairs booties or lace-up flats in the winter. I consider myself to be an extremely girly person, but sometimes I like to wear an ultra ripped pair of jeans or a (vegan) leather jacket, or even both!

Resisting the urge to stay in bed during the cold winter is hard, but living in such a wonderful city as Philadelphia where you have so many places to explore makes it just a tiny bit easier to have the motivation to dress up. I love spending time finding new restaurants to try, going to the numerous historic sites and museums, or just spending time around Temple with friends.

I am so excited to be doing something beyond my major that excites me, and I hope my posts will be able to excite you all as well!
