Hey there Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Haley Webster and I am so pumped to be on board as a Style Guru this summer for CollegeFashionista. I am representing Indiana University, where I am currently a sophomore pursuing a degree in Marketing with a minor in Apparel Merchandising. I am looking forward to capturing this year’s best summer fashions as college students bring out all of the clothes that were packed away and prepare for some sunshine and warm weather!
Coming from a small town of only 2,000 people, my world was rocked when I arrived on Indiana University’s campus of around 40,000 students. I quickly became intrigued by the unique fashions of students from all over the country and the world who are all following different dreams. There is fashion inspiration around every corner I turn and in every classroom I step into. I am most inspired by the risk takers. While walking to class, my eye is most drawn to the styles that are unexpected. Styles that make me wonder, “How are they pulling that off?” Mismatched patterns and creative layers are bold fashion statements that I would like to incorporate more into my own style.
To me, fashion is empowering. I believe you can change someone’s life with a smile, and you can change your mood if you change your outfit. I have found that the right outfit can make for a brighter day and can even make me more productive. My personal style evolves so much every day that the rate of change drastically surpasses my budget. Hunting for discounts and finding treasures while thrift shopping at Goodwill help me fund some of my shopping adventures. Currently, my personal style could be described as cute, casual and comfortable. I am drawn to floral patterns, and I would wear a dress or skirt every day if I could pull it off without too many outfit repeats. My pictured look includes a casual floral romper, simple pearl accessories and my go-to shoes—Keds.
I have already been inspired by various Style Guru posts and am thrilled to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team. I am excited to discover and share the fashions of the summer with you!
